This guide shows you how to review, sort, edit, and approve comments so you can keep conversations on track and remove spam when needed. Managing comments protects your site’s credibility and ensures only the right messages appear publicly.

Review All Comments
To begin managing comments, start from your website’s admin dashboard.
- Open your website editor by adding /admin to the end of your website address (e.g. www.website.com/admin)
- Click Blog comments.
- Review the full list, including comment text, name, IP address, date, and approval status.
- Click any column header (Name, IP, Date, Approval, Spam Detected) to sort the list.
- Click again to switch between ascending and descending order.
Filter or Search Through Comments
Filters help you quickly find specific types of comments—such as new, unapproved, or non-spam messages.
- Use the filter panel to narrow comments by status, date, or spam detection.
- To find new comments waiting for review, combine:
- Not approved
- Not spam
- Use the search bar to find comments containing specific words or names.
- Combine search, filters, and sorting to pinpoint the comments you need to manage.
Edit a Comment
You can adjust comment details or remove a message entirely.
- Click any comment in the list.
- Update any fields, including name, message text, or Is approved.
- Click Save to keep your changes.
- Click Delete if you want to permanently remove the comment.
Approve Comments
Comments do not appear publicly until you approve them. This helps prevent spam and unwanted posts from appearing on your website.
- Open the comment you want to approve.
- Check the Is approved box.
- Click Save.
Why a comment isn’t showing up:
- It has not been manually approved yet.
- It may have been flagged as spam in the filter panel.
Use Bulk Actions
Bulk actions help you approve or remove many comments at once.
- Narrow the list using filters (optional).
- Select the checkboxes next to the comments you want to update.
- Open the bulk action menu.
- Choose Approve all selected or Delete all selected.
- Click Go to apply changes to all selected comments.
Troubleshooting
- A comment isn’t appearing on the blog post.
Make sure the Is approved box is checked. - I can’t find a comment.
Clear all filters or check if it’s flagged as spam. - Too many comments to review.
Use filters such as Not approved + Not spam to reduce the list. - Sorting isn’t working the way I expect.
Click the same column again to reverse the order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do comments appear automatically?
No. You must approve each comment before it appears publicly.
Can I unapprove a comment?
Yes. Open the comment, uncheck Is approved, and click Save.
Can I restore a deleted comment?
No. Deleted comments cannot be recovered.
How do I prevent spam comments?
Use the spam filter and only approve comments after reviewing them.
