What Are Tags?
Tags are custom labels that can be applied to contacts in your Real Geeks CRM. They help organize leads by grouping them with similar labels, making it easier to find, manage, and follow up with them efficiently.
Why Use Tags?
Tags give you more flexibility in managing your leads. With tags, you can:
- Quickly filter and search for leads with shared characteristics.
- Create saved searches for frequently accessed lead groups.
- Export specific lead groups.
- Bulk reassign leads based on tag filters.
By tagging your leads appropriately, you can ensure better organization and more targeted follow-ups, leading to higher conversion rates.
Where to Find the Tag Manager
You can find the Tag Manager in your Lead Manager settings under the Customize section. Here, you’ll see all existing tags, including those created by other agents.
🚨 Important
All users in the Lead Manager can view, edit, and delete tags. Changes made to tags will affect everyone using the system.
How to Add a Tag
- Open the Leads tab in your Lead Manager.
- Select the lead you want to tag.
- On the lead’s detail page, click the Tags tab below their contact information.
- Type out your tag. If a similar tag already exists, it will appear as a suggestion.
This method allows you to categorize leads as you work through them individually.
Using Tags to Create Saved Lead Filters
If you frequently work with specific types of leads, you can create Saved Filters based on tags.
Example: Filtering Investor Leads
- Tag all investor leads with “Investor.”
- Go to the Leads tab and open Advanced Search.
- Set the filter to Tags → Contains → Investor.
- Click Save Search, name it (e.g., “Investor Leads”), and save.
Now, you can quickly access this group without redoing the search every time. You can also add other filters, such as an assigned agent, to refine your saved search.
How to Merge Tags
If you have duplicate or similar tags (e.g., “Vendor” and “Vendors”), you can merge them into one.
Steps to Merge Tags:
- Open the Tag Manager in settings.
- Select the tags you want to merge.
- Click Merge.
- Choose the correct tag name or create a new one.
- Click Next and confirm the merge.
This helps maintain a clean and organized tagging system.
Tagging Leads in Bulk
If you need to tag multiple leads at once:
- Go to the Leads tab in the Lead Manager.
- Check the box next to all the leads you want to tag.
- Click Actions (top-right) and select Bulk Update.
- In the Change dropdown, select Tags.
- Add or remove tags as needed.
- Click Next, check Confirm Update, and then click Update.
This is useful for categorizing large groups of leads efficiently.

Can other agents see my tags?
Yes. The Tag Manager is shared among all users in your Real Geeks CRM. Any edits, deletions, or merges affect all users.
What happens if I delete a tag?
Deleting a tag removes it from all associated leads. Be cautious when deleting tags, as this action cannot be undone.
Can I filter by multiple tags?
Yes. When using Advanced Search, you can filter leads by multiple tags to refine your results further.
