Why is my Logo so Small?

Follow

If your logo appears very small and non-readable at the top of the screen, then it is because your logo does not fit into our required size dimensions.

The dimensions of the logo must be no larger than 400 pixels wide and 86 pixels tall (400 x 86 px)

Your logo appears small in this situation because it is above our recommended size requirements and the system will attempt to shrink the size of the photo to these specifications.

Building a logo in these specifications ensures that you get a logo that is clear and visible

Why these dimensions?

The reasoning for only providing enough space for a logo of this size is because we immediately want to draw the user's eyes directly to the large search feature located in the center of the page.

Additionally, a large, "square-shaped" logo would also cause the primary navigation bar to be pushed down, which can lead to some awkward spacing

How Can I Resize my Photo or Make a New Logo?

There are many tools built into your computer or mobile device that can resize this, but we recommend some of the following options for accomplishing these tasks:

  • Canva
    • Canva is a graphic design platform that allows users to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents and other visual content. Users can choose from many professional designed templates, and edit the designs and upload their own photos through a drag and drop interface
  • Pixlr
    • This is like a mini version of photoshop that allows you to customize and edit photos. It can do some very creative things, but it can easily resize your photos for you as well. You can do this by going to https://pixlr.com/x/ and clicking the "open image" button to find your logo on your computer. Once in your image, click the "Properties" button Screen_Shot_2020-09-10_at_4.48.42_PM.png and choose "Resize Image" and enter in the image size
