How to Pull G-Tag and Event Snippet from Google Ad Words

For real estate professionals, tracking ad performance is crucial for business growth. The Google tag (G-tag) connects your website to Google Ads, allowing you to monitor user interactions after a potential lead clicks on your Google Ad. By utilizing the G-tag and setting up custom conversion actions, you can gain insights into which ads generate leads, enabling you to optimize your advertising strategy and enhance lead generation efforts.

How to Install a Google G-Tag on Your Real Geeks Website

The first step in setting up conversion tracking is installing the Google tag (G-tag) on your Real Geeks website. The G-tag acts as a bridge between your site and tools like Google Ads, allowing you to monitor user actions effectively.

Please note that while this guide provides instructions on how to find your G-tag code, the actual implementation of the code must be performed by our support team. To have the code added to your website, please reach out to them at support@realgeeks.com.

  4. Click Installation Instructions
  5. Select Install Manually
  6. Click the "Copy" button to copy the provided code
  7. Send the code to support@realgeeks.com

How to Create a Conversion Action (Event Snippet)

Adding the G-tag to your website is just the first step in setting up conversion tracking. To track specific actions, you’ll need to create custom conversion actions. This helps Google understand what’s most important to your business, giving you clear data to measure your ad performance and improve your marketing strategy.

  1. Visit your Google Ad Words Account, then click Goals
  2. Select New Conversion Action

  3. Choose the Website Tracking
  4. Enter your website domain name (www.website.com) and click Scan
  5. Click Add a Conversion Code Manually
  6. Select the Goal and Action Optimization settings, which dictate how Google monitors user activity on your website. We recommend setting up at least 2 goals: One for tracking "Submit Lead Form" and "Contact"
  7. Enter a Conversion name - This helps you identify your conversion in your Ad Words account
  8. Establish a conversion Value - This is used to measure the financial impact this type of conversion has on your advertising
    • We recommend choosing the option to NOT use a value for tracking leads to focus on capturing new leads without assigning a monetary value to them
  9. Select how many conversions to Count - we recommend selecting the "One" option
  10. Click Done
    • Repeat the event creation process as many times as necessary.
  11. Click Save and continue

Once the Google Tag is implemented on your website, it will automatically start tracking specific events, enabling Google Ads to monitor user interactions in real time.

Use this data to gain valuable insights into user behavior, refine your advertising strategies, and make data-driven decisions to improve your lead generation efforts.
