      How to Use Bing UET Tags and Conversion Goals

      Overview

      Add Bing's Universal Event Tracking (UET) tag to your website in order to access conversion tracking, audience retargeting and automated bidding strategies when you advertise your website with Bing!

      Please Note:

      The Real Geeks Support team are the only ones who can add this to your website. Please submit an email to the team (support@realgeeks.com) so we can ensure your tag is added properly!

       

      How To Install Bing UET Tracking Code

      You will need a Microsoft Advertising Account. Click Here to learn how to create a free account!

      1. Go to your Microsoft Advertising Overview page (Here )
      2. Click Tools > UET Tag



      3. Click Create UET Tag
      4. Enter a UET Tag Name
        • Optional: Add a description for further clarification
      5. Click Save
      6. Select Install the tag yourself, then click Next
      7. Click Copy Tag
      8. Send an email to support@realgeeks.com and paste the tag from Microsoft into your message
        • The Subject line should be: Install Bing Tracking Tag

      Our team will handle the rest! We will send you a confirmation email once the tag has been added to your website. 

       

      Conversion Goals

      Use Conversion Tracking to measure the Return on Investment (ROI) of your Bing ad campaigns by tracking website activity when they find your website through your ad.  Establish what kind of "conversions" you want to track through Bing with Conversion Goals!

       

      Create a Goal to Track Website Signups

      1. Go to the Conversion Goals page
      2. Click Create
      3. Under What Kind of Conversions do you Want to Track: click Website, then click Next
      4. Select Submit Lead Form as your Goal Category
      5. Click Event as the Goal Type
      6. Click Next
      7. Name your Conversion Goal. This is used internally only
      8. Select Each Conversion Has the Same Value for your Conversion Revenue 
        • By assigning a revenue value to your goal, it will help you visualize the monetary value that is being driven to your website. 
      9. Optional: Use the Advanced Settings to streamline your conversion tracking even further
      10. Click Next
      11. Select the option to use the UET tag that has been placed on your website. click here to see those steps again
      12. Click Save & Next
      13. Click Manual Installation, then click Next
      14. Click Add New Parameter and add the following values: 
        • Category: Lead
        • Label: NewLead
        • Value: 1

      15. Under When do you want to track this event, Select Track event on inline action
      16. Click Copy Tag
      17. Send an email to support@realgeeks.com and paste the tag from Microsoft into your message
        • The Subject line should be: Install Bing Conversion Goal Tag

      How To Verify UET Code has been added to website

      Our support team will provide you with a confirmation email once this has been added to your website. 

      Please note that it can take up to 24 hours for this change to take place. You can track the status of your tag by going to the UET Tag page, and checking your tag's Tracking Status.
