Using Facebook Login to Simplify Lead Sign-Ups

Benefits of Using “Login with Facebook”

Enabling “Login with Facebook” makes it easier for potential leads to sign up on your Real Geeks website, reducing friction and improving lead conversion.

Pros:

Faster Sign-Ups – Leads can create an account with just a few clicks, eliminating the need to manually enter their information.

Fewer Abandoned Registrations – Since Facebook login is familiar and quick, more leads complete the sign-up process.

Automatic Contact Info Capture – Facebook provides the lead’s registered email, ensuring you get at least one form of contact information.

Flexible Phone Number Requirements – You can choose whether to require a phone number or allow sign-ups without one.

Cons:

⚠️  Leads May Not Provide a Phone Number - Facebook login pulls the email address associated with the lead’s Facebook account. If their Facebook profile does not have a phone number linked, Real Geeks cannot collect one at signup. These leads will be added to your CRM with email only.

Please Note

Real Geeks will prompt the lead for a phone number on each page visit until one is provided.

⚠️  Leads May Use an Old or Inactive Email - Facebook login pulls the email associated with their Facebook account, which could be outdated or rarely checked.

⚠️  Ad Leads Can Also Use Facebook Login - Even if a lead comes from an ad (e.g., Google Ads), they may still use Facebook to sign in, which could affect the contact details you receive.

How to Enable or Disable Facebook Login

To adjust Facebook login settings, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your website backend by adding /admin to the end of your website domain (www.website.com/admin)
  2. Click Site Settings, then click Advanced Site Settings

  3. In the Enable Facebook Login menu, choose one of the following options:
    • Use Default – The default setting, which requires a phone number

    • Enabled - Require Phone – Leads must enter a phone number after logging in with Facebook
    • Enabled - Don’t Require Phone – Leads can sign up without a phone number
    • Disabled – Removes the Facebook login option from your website
  4. Click Save

Conclusion

The Login with Facebook button is a great way to simplify sign-ups and improve lead capture rates. However, it’s important to be aware of potential gaps in contact information and adjust your follow-up strategy accordingly.
