There are times when you'd like to use a website you already own and not utilize the Real Geeks design.
We can display your property information using a Search Widget so your clients can still access your existing website, but have the ability to display MLS data on a SUBDOMAIN of your existing site (an example of a subdomain would be: If your website name was propertysearch.com, then you can display your listings in a location like search.propertysearch.com)
Before we begin: Please make sure that you have received the approval from your MLS board first!
If you are not sure or have not received your MLS approval yet, you can reach out to idx@realgeeks.com to check the status or see what your board still requires from you
Finding the search box
This can be done by adding the New Search Widget located in your website backend (This can be found by going to home.realgeeks.com > Edit Website > New Search Widget)
Once there, click the blue "Click to Get Code" button and copy the provided search code.
This code will then need to be added to your website's source code in the location that you want the search feature to appear
IF YOU DON'T SEE THE PREVIEW OF YOUR SEARCH FEATURE, YOU CAN STILL COPY THE CODE
"Turning On" the search feature
Now that your search widget has been added to your website, we want to make sure that your site is able to display the data from your MLS board
To do this, we will need to add a CNAME in your Domain Registrar (The Company you purchased your domain name from. Godaddy, Google Domains, Namecheap are some popular services)
Please add the following information:
- The Host Name: search.WEBSITENAME.com (WEBSITENAME should be replaced with your domain name)
- The Value: ssl.realgeeks.com
There will need to be some additional changes made on the Real Geeks side that can only be done by our support team, so please give our support team a call so we can assist you in any of this
You can contact us by giving us a call to 844-311-4969 (extension 2) or by submitting a ticket at support@realgeeks.com
