To use the Real Geeks Facebook Marketing Tool effectively, you’ll need to set up a Meta Business Manager (also called the Meta Business Suite) account. This setup allows you to connect your business’s Facebook assets—such as Pages, Ad Accounts, and Pixels—to our platform, so you can create and manage high-performing ad campaigns.

How to Create a Meta Business Manager Account

If you’re new to Facebook or have never run ads before, don’t worry—setting up a Meta Business Manager account is simple. Just follow these steps:

  1. Go to business.facebook.com
  2. Click Create an Account
  3. Enter Your Business Information:
    1. Your Business Name
    2. Your Full Name
    3. Your Work Email Address
    4. Add Business Details
  4. Click Submit

You may be prompted to confirm your email. Please check your email for a confirmation email from Meta.

How to Configure Your Business Manager Account

Once your Meta Business Manager account is set up, it’s time to configure it to manage your business resources effectively. Follow these steps to set up your Business Page, Ad Account, and team access.

Create a Business Page in Facebook Business Manager

If you don’t already have a Facebook Page for your business, you can create one directly in Business Manager:

  1. Go to your Business Manager Settings.
  2. Click Pages in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Click Create a new Facebook Page 
  5. Enter your Page name
    • This should be the name of your business/team
  6. Enter up to 3 categories that describe what type of business this page is for.
    • Real Estate should be one of them
  7. Click Next.
  8. Check the box to agree to Meta Terms of Service and Pages, groups and events policies on behalf of the business portfolio.
  9. Click Create Page

Add an Existing Business Page to Your Business Manager

If you already have a Facebook Page, you can add it to your Business Manager:

  1. Navigate to Business Settings.
  2. Click Pages on the left menu, then click Add.
  3. Select Add a Page.

  4. Enter the name or URL of your Page, then click Add Page.
  5. Confirm ownership of the Page if prompted.

Note: You must be an Admin of the Page to add it to your Business Manager.

Create a Facebook Ad Account in Your Business Manager

A Facebook Ad Account is essential for creating and managing your ads. While Meta Business Manager organizes your business resources, the Ad Account is specifically for:

  • Designing, launching, and tracking ad campaigns.
  • Managing budgets and payments.
  • Ensuring compliance with Facebook’s advertising policies.

If you don’t have an Ad Account yet, create one within Business Manager:

  1. Go to Business Settings > Ad Accounts.
  2. Click Add, then select Create a New Ad Account.

  3. Enter your Ad Account name, time zone, and currency.
  4. Assign your business as the owner of the Ad Account.
  5. Assign roles (e.g., yourself or team members), then click Create Ad Account.

Link a Facebook Ad Account to Your Business Manager

If you already have a Facebook Ad Account, you can link it to your Business Manager:

  1. Go to Business Settings > Ad Accounts.
  2. Click Add, then choose Claim an Existing Ad Account.

  3. Enter your Ad Account ID (found in your Ads Manager), and click Add Ad Account.

Confirm ownership of the Ad Account if prompted.

Add People to Your Business Manager Account

Adding people to your Business Manager allows you to securely share access to your business resources, like Pages, and run ads from your business manager.

To allow others (e.g., team members, agencies) to access your business resources:

  1. Go to Business Settings > Users > People.
  2. Click Add, then enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
  3. Assign a role:
    • Admin Access: Full control over the account.
    • Employee Access: Limited access for specific tasks.
  4. Choose what assets they can access (e.g., Pages, Ad Accounts, Pixels).
  5. Click Invite.

The invitee will receive an email with a link to accept and join your Business Manager.

To advertise on Facebook using your website, you must verify your domain in Meta Business Manager. This process confirms your ownership and ensures compliance with Facebook’s advertising policies. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to the Domains Setting page in your Business Manager
  2. Click Add
  3. Click Create a Domain
  4. Enter in the root domain without any prefixes. For example, enter website.com, not www.website.com nor https://website.com.
  5. Click Add
  6. Copy the Meta Tag
    • Example:

  7. Send the Meta Tag to support@realgeeks.com
  8. After confirmation of the tag being added, return to the Domains page and click Verify

Required - Assign Yourself Business Assets

Before running ads with our Facebook Marketing Tool, it’s essential to assign business assets—such as Pages and Ad Accounts—to yourself within Meta Business Manager. This step ensures you have the necessary permissions to manage and execute advertising campaigns effectively.

  1. Go to Business Settings > Users > People.
  2. Click on your name (profile)
  3. Select Assign Assets
  4. Choose your Business Asset by placing a checkmark next to it
  5. Grant yourself full control by selecting Manage ad accounts

How to Configure Facebook Pixels and Events

To run ads with the Facebook Marketing Tool, you must add a Facebook Pixel to your website. The Pixel is a piece of code that tracks visitor activity, helping you monitor leads, retarget potential clients, and optimize your ads. You can also create custom events to better track specific actions, such as viewing listings or submitting contact forms.

Generate a Dataset

To add a Facebook Pixel to your website, you must first create a dataset in Meta Business Manager. The dataset acts as a container to collect, store, and organize the data your Pixel tracks. This step is required for the Pixel to function properly and integrate with your website.

  1. Go to Business Settings > Data Sources > Datasets
  2. Click Add
  3. Enter your dataset's name. Keep it simple with your business name + pixel data (Example: Quick Realty Team Pixel)
  4. Click Create

Create a Tracking Pixel

  1. Go to the Events Manager page in the Business Manager
  2. Click Data Sources
  3. Click Set up Meta Pixel
  4. Select Install Code Manually
  5. Click Copy Code 
     

Send the copied Meta Pixel to support@realgeeks.com for our team to add it to your website. Our team will apply this pixel to your website, and notify you when this is done. The pixel will automatically begin tracking on your website.
