Google Analytics 4 (GA4) - Manually Create a Property

Please Note

Google will stop tracking data on a Universal Analytics (UA) account on July 1st, 2023. All analytics users will be required to use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) moving forward, in order to properly measure user activity on your website.

To begin tracking user activity with GA4, you’ll need to create a property. A property is a resource with a unique tracking code (called a Measurement ID)that is designed to measure user activity on your website.

Create a New Property

  1. Visit analytics.google.com
  2. Click Admin
  3. Click Create Property
  4. Enter your Business’ name in Property Name
  5. Click Next
  6. Under category, select Real Estate
  7. Select the size of your business
  8. Select one or more Business Objectives
  9. Click Create
  10. Click Web
  11. Enter your Website URL in the appropriate field, then enter your Business’ name in the Stream name
  12. Click Create Stream

Once you have created your GA4 property, you will need to add the property’s unique Measurement ID to your website. This will start the process of recording user activity on your website.

Add Measurement ID to Website

  1. Visit analytics.google.com
  2. Click Admin
  3. Click Data Streams
  4. Click the appropriate Data Stream for your website
  5. Copy the Measurement ID
  6. Go to the Real Geeks Website Editor (home.realgeeks.com → Edit Website)
  7. Click Website Settings
  8. Paste the Measurement ID in the GA4 Measurement ID field
  9. Change the Enable GA4 menu to True
  10. Click Save

Please Note:

It can take up to 48 hours before the property is able to start collecting data. If you do not see data before 48 hours is up, check again later.
