What This Setup Does
This setup allows you to use Real Geeks’ home search functionality on a website you already own.
Instead of replacing your current website, you are:
-
Embedding a Search Widget into your existing site
-
Hosting MLS search results on a connected subdomain
-
Capturing leads directly into your Real Geeks CRM
Example:
-
Your main website: propertysearch.com
-
Your search experience: search.propertysearch.com
This is a common setup for agents who want to keep their current branding or website provider while using Real Geeks as their CRM and lead capture system.
Step 1: Copy Your Search Widget Code
-
Go to your website backend by adding /admin to your domain (example: www.yourwebsite.com/admin)
-
Navigate to the Widgets section
-
Click Search Widget

-
Click the blue Click to Get Code button

-
Copy the provided code
This code is what allows you to place Real Geeks search functionality on your external website.
Step 2: Add the Search to Your Website
-
Open your website editor or access your site’s source code
-
Paste the Search Widget code where you want the search bar to appear
-
Save and publish your changes
Even if the search preview does not appear immediately, the widget will function once the domain setup is complete.
Step 3: Set Up Your Subdomain (CNAME)
To display MLS results correctly, you must connect a subdomain to Real Geeks.
-
Log in to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Google Domains, Namecheap, etc.)
-
Go to your DNS settings
-
Add a new CNAME record using the following:
-
-
Host Name: search.yourwebsite.com
-

This tells your domain where to load the search results from.
