Add Real Geeks Home Search to an Existing Website

Use Real Geeks property search on your WordPress or other existing website while managing leads in your CRM

If you already have a personal or team website and want to keep using it, you can still take advantage of Real Geeks’ home search tools. This setup allows you to embed the Real Geeks Search Widget into your existing site while hosting MLS results on a connected subdomain. This way, you keep your current website experience while capturing and managing leads inside your Real Geeks CRM.\

  • You must have MLS approval to display listing data on your website

  • This setup uses a subdomain (example: search.yourwebsite.com) to display search results

  • Leads generated from the search will be added to your Real Geeks CRM

  • Real Geeks Support must finalize the connection after setup

What This Setup Does

This setup allows you to use Real Geeks’ home search functionality on a website you already own.

Instead of replacing your current website, you are:

  • Embedding a Search Widget into your existing site

  • Hosting MLS search results on a connected subdomain

  • Capturing leads directly into your Real Geeks CRM

Example:

  • Your main website: propertysearch.com

  • Your search experience: search.propertysearch.com

This is a common setup for agents who want to keep their current branding or website provider while using Real Geeks as their CRM and lead capture system.

Step 1: Copy Your Search Widget Code

  1. Go to your website backend by adding /admin to your domain (example: www.yourwebsite.com/admin)

  2. Navigate to the Widgets section

  3. Click Search Widget

  4. Click the blue Click to Get Code button

  5. Copy the provided code

This code is what allows you to place Real Geeks search functionality on your external website.

Step 2: Add the Search to Your Website

  1. Open your website editor or access your site’s source code

  2. Paste the Search Widget code where you want the search bar to appear

  3. Save and publish your changes

Even if the search preview does not appear immediately, the widget will function once the domain setup is complete.

Step 3: Set Up Your Subdomain (CNAME)

To display MLS results correctly, you must connect a subdomain to Real Geeks.

  1. Log in to your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Google Domains, Namecheap, etc.)

  2. Go to your DNS settings

  3. Add a new CNAME record using the following:

    • Host Name: search.yourwebsite.com

    • Value: ssl.realgeeks.com

This tells your domain where to load the search results from.

Step 4: Finalize Setup with Support

Once your CNAME record is added, the final connection must be completed by Real Geeks.

Contact support to finish setup:

The support team will:

  • Connect your subdomain to your Real Geeks account

  • Ensure your search results display correctly

  • Confirm lead capture is working as expected

  • Do I need a Real Geeks website to use this?
    Every Real Geeks account includes a website and CRM. You’ll still use your Real Geeks site backend to generate the Search Widget and host search results, even with an external site, and you can switch to using your Real Geeks website at any time.

  • Where do my leads go?
    All leads generated from the search will be added directly to your Real Geeks CRM as new leads.

  • Why is MLS approval required?
    MLS approval is required to legally display listing data on your website, including any subdomain using Real Geeks search tools.

  • What if my search is not showing results?
    This is usually due to incomplete DNS setup or pending support configuration. Contact support to verify your setup.
