Saved Search & Market Report Email Sunsetting - Protect Deliverability
Automatically reduce updates to unengaged leads to help protect your email reputation and keep alerts reaching inboxes.
Sunsetting is an automatic safety feature that reduces how often leads receive Property Update Emails when they stop opening them. It helps protect your sender reputation so valuable listing alerts have a better chance of reaching your leads’ inboxes.

How Property Update Email Sunsetting Works
Repeatedly sending emails that a lead does not open can hurt your sender reputation, making future listing alerts more likely to land in spam. Real Geeks helps protect deliverability by automatically adjusting delivery:
-
After 14 consecutive unopened emails on a daily schedule: Delivery changes to weekly.
-
After 18 consecutive unopened emails: Delivery changes to monthly.
-
After six months without opening Property Update Emails: Updates stop sending. The lead receives a warning beforehand.
Please Note
The first two thresholds count emails, not days.
Saved Search emails only send when matching listing updates are available, so 14 unopened emails does not necessarily mean 14 days.
If a Lead’s Updates Slow Down or Stop
Review their Saved Searches and recent email activity. Sunsetting may explain the change, but updates can also stop because there are no matching listing changes or the lead unsubscribed.
To keep updates useful:
-
Confirm their preferences. Ask whether their location, budget, or moving timeline has changed.
-
Update their Saved Searches. Keep the listings aligned with what they want.
-
Help them find expected emails. Ask them to check spam and, if applicable, their Promotions or Updates tab.
