In this training you're taught how to edit and add pages to your Real Geeks website. Review the steps the items discussed in the "Create Content to Turn Visitors Into Leads" training by clicking an option below.

Where to Add & Edit Pages
To add or edit a page on your website, you'll need to head over to your Site Backend at leads.realgeeks.com→ Click "Settings" from the left-hand navigation → "Edit Website".
The pages on your website are located under the "CONTENT" section in your Site Backend. To learn more about a specific page type, select an option below:
"Search Popular Areas"
& "Popular Market Reports"
The section of your website that contains the items labeled "Search Popular Areas" and "Popular Market Reports" is called your Default Sidebar. The areas listed under each of the items are links to pages.
"Search Popular Areas"
- This item (links, title) can be edited in your Default Sidebar. The PAGES linked here can be found in your Site Backend under either:
"CONTENT" → "Area Pages"
Or "CONTENT" → "Content Pages" - To add a NEW area to this section of your website:
(1) Create a new page for the area you wish to add*
(2) LINK the new page to your Default Sidebar under "Search Popular Areas"

"Popular Market Reports"
- This item (links, title) can be edited in your Default Sidebar. The PAGES linked here can be found in your Site Backend:
"CONTENT" → "Market Report Pages" - To add a NEW area to this section of your website:
(1) Create a new page for the area you wish to add*
(2) LINK the new page to your Default Sidebar under "Popular Market Reports"

Page Fields
The page fields can be edited from the top of a page in the Site Backend. Only the bolded page fields must be filled in to save the page. All other fields are optional.
Parent:
- OPTIONAL - Used to organize your page in a hierarchy.
- For example, a "Carlsbad Pool Homes" page could have a parent of "Carlsbad".
Title:
- OPTIONAL - Title of the page displayed in the browser tab. Used for SEO - a strong title that includes your company name and describes the content of your page is suggested.
- For example, "Buying Real Estate in San Diego | Property Premium" - learn more about how page titles are related to SEO in this external article.
Meta Description:
- OPTIONAL - 1-2 sentences describing the page to search engines. Used for SEO - a strong, catchy, description that describes the content of your page is suggested.
- For example, "First time home buyer? Looking in invest? Learn more about buying real estate in San Diego with advice from area experts. Contact us today!" - learn more about how meta descriptions are related to SEO in this external article.
Meta Keywords:
- OPTIONAL - List of keywords separated by commas describing the page to search engines. Used for SEO, although not as important as other SEO related items on the page - descriptive keywords that describe the content of your page are suggested.
- For example, "buying a home, first time home buyer, investing, real estate in San Diego, area experts" - learn more about how meta keywords are related to SEO in this external article.
Anchor Text:
- This is the name of the page. Keep it as short as possible while still being somewhat descriptive.
- For example, a page created for a buyers guide could be named "Buyer's Guide".
Slug:
- This is the URL ending for the page, or where the page will live on your website. This will be generated for you based on the Anchor Text entered when creating the page.
- For example, if "Buyer's Guide" is typed into the Anchor Text field, the slug generated will be "buyers-guide". Once the page is saved, it will be located at: yourdomain.com/buyers-guide/
Page Content
Add text, images, links, and more to a page by adding to the page's Content section. Adding things like videos and PDFs would also be done here by adding an embed code (videos, PDFs, widgets) or other third-party code to the page's Source Code.
Template:
- Used to adjust the features of a Content Page (template options are not available on any other page type). Each available template has unique features related to either the search at the top of the page or the type of content displayed on the page.
Content:
- Add any kind of content to your page in this section. Use the toolbar to add/edit text, links, and images.
- Display items like video, PDF documents, third-party widgets, or any third-party code by selecting the Source Code icon that resembles greater-than/less-than symbols "< >" and embedding a small amount of code.

(ie. many websites offer a way to display content from their site on another site by embedding what's called a "widget" - With social media you can also typically embed entire feeds or posts).
Page Settings
Utilize the page settings located at the bottom of a page in the Site Backend to add/update things on the page like the background image or video, the properties displayed, the search form, and more.
Override Landscape Image or Video:
- Used to add/edit the background or header image that runs across the top of the page.
- "Gallery Image or Video" -- select an image or video from the Real Geeks gallery
- "Custom Image or Video" -- upload an image or video from your computer files
- "No Image or Video" -- no background image or video displayed (plain white background)
- "Use Default" -- utilize the image set as your Header Image in the Site Settings (learn more)
Sidebar / Footer / Banner Options:
- Set the Sidebar, Footer, and Banner used on the page by selecting one of each from the corresponding drop-down menus. Both the Sidebar and Footer options on a page can typically be set to "Default". Add a Banner to your page by clicking the green plus sign icon.
- "Sidebar" -- section of the website containing Popular Areas, Useful Info, etc - learn more
- "Footer" -- bottom corner of the site displaying your brokerage name and address - learn more
- "Banner" -- a message with call to action that runs across the top of the page - learn more
Capture Form Options:
- Require visitors to create an account on your website before they're able to view the page by attaching a capture form - learn more.
Property Display Search Options:
- Add or update the listing on a page by creating or editing a search. The search function works exactly like performing a search for a client - add criteria to the search to generate a list of resulting properties. These properties are then displayed on the page.
- "Listing header" -- line of text just above the properties/listings themselves
- "Number of search results" -- determine how many properties/listings are displayed on the page
- "Property display location" -- display properties above or below content
- "Create/Edit Search" -- add or edit the properties/listings themselves
Search Form Display Options:
- Your search form is the search box on top of the background image/video at the top of the page. The line of text above that search box is called your Search Header.
- "Search header" -- line of text above the search box
- "Search form type" -- type of search box displayed (does not affect Anna website template)
- "Set/Edit Search Defaults" -- set default search criteria for the search box on the page
- "Search form tabs" -- show/remove the tabs above search box (Anna template only)
Adding Pages to the Default Sidebar
After creating a new page you have to LINK THE PAGE somewhere on your website for visitors to be able to find it. A common place to link pages, especially Area Pages and Market Report Pages, is your Default Sidebar - learn more.
- If you create a new Area Page, link it under the item titled "Search Popular Areas" on your Default Sidebar.
- If you create a new Market Report Page, link it under the item titled "Popular Market Reports" on your Default Sidebar.
Your Default Sidebar can be found in your Site Backend → "CONTENT"→ "Sidebars" → "Default Sidebar".
